This is a posterior (spine-up) view of the cat in which the probe is pointing to biceps femoris. You can think of biceps femoris as the "analogous" muscle (in terms of relative location and size) to the sartorius muscle of the thigh (anterior view of the cat). To clarify, the biceps femoris muscle takes up about one half of the posterior surface of the hindleg on the lateral side; similarly, the sartorius muscle takes up about one half of the anterior surface of the hindleg, also on the lateral side.
